• Started his career in the oil industry in 1984 as a Geologist in the Lemigas Exploration Division.
• Served as Head of the Remote Sensing & GIS Studies Group and Head of the Lemigas Exploration Technical Service Unit Head of the Lemigas Exploration Division (2001-2005) and Assistant Deputy for Oil Affairs to the Deputy for Energy, Mineral Resources and Forestry at the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs Office.
• Served as Commissioner of PT Pertamina EP since July 1, 2009. In addition to being Acting President Director of Pertamina, Muhamad Husen also continues to carry out his duties as Upstream Director
